All Drums are made with bird beak joinery resulting in a stronger construction of the instruments. Hand crafted Black Maire is hard (probably one of New Zealands hardest woods.) Heavy and strong, mature black maire is extremely durable. As a result it was used by early European settlers as a substitute for lignum vitae for bearings and pully blocks.

Paduke hardwood · 32" diameter

A framed in its own custom-made stand. Cow hide stretched on a 32" dia. drum carved from 32 laminate stipes of Paduke hardwood. Hand-carved tight high tones and warm bass. All Drums are made with bird beak joinery resulting in a stronger construction of the instruments. Comes with heavy hand crafted display stand the drum hangs in with a concrete base plus 2 tum tum sticks. Deep, ominous resonant heartbeat tone. Made to order. In its own custom design!
